Review: ZuneOne silicone case for Zune 4/8
by Harvey Chute
I am starting to feel like a 24-hour Zune accessory channel. We have a good supply of Zune cases and accessories to review, and I've been making a push to keep up with the photography and reviews.
Our latest review unit is ZuneOne's silicone case for Zune 4GB and 8GB players.
Check it out! You can also browse though all of our Zune accessory reviews, here.

Review: Incipio Wallet Case for Zune 4/8
by Harvey Chute
We recently received a bundle of Incipio cases here at Zunerama global headquarters. My oldest daughter wasted no time claiming a pink leather wallet case for her Zune 8GB.
Fortunately, I was able to give it a test run and snap some pics, before it journeyed back to college with her.

Shorty, we hardly knew ye
by Harvey Chute
We're on our way to Atlanta today, with three charged-up Zune players. I'm dozing while daughter #2 watches The Incredibles on my Zune 80GB.
She taps me. "Hey, look, there's another Zune!" She shows me the Nearby screen on her 8GB.
Oops, not supposed to have wireless on when we're airborne. Still, thought I'd send a quick "hello" to our unknown fellow Zuner before turning wireless off.
The result was below.
Foiled! Looks like Shorty hasn't updated his player to Zune 2.5 yet... and can't accept a wireless send from an updated Zune.
I suppose it has only been 11 days since the 2.5 release. I wonder how many Zuners haven't experienced the goodness of this update yet!?

Post a pic, win a black 30GB
by Harvey Chute
We're kicking off this weekend by giving away a Zune 30GB.
It's one we got from Woot. Black in color - with a blue double-shot, remember those? Better yet, it's a refurb, so it actually has experience in the field!
To win, post a pic in our Zune Photo Gallery. See our giveaway thread for details.

Zune Gamers: how's your battery life?
by Harvey Chute
I'm curious about your experience with Zune battery life when you're playing games.
Both the video display and the button-pushing interactivity of games naturally have some draining effect on your Zune's battery.
Zunerama member josh0is0here reports that he let Pong run unattended, and it took 3.5 hours for his battery to go from 100% to 5%. But that was on autopilot, without the feverish paddle-sliding that typically accompanies a round of Pong.
How's your battery life when in games mode? Let us know.

The games get better: Galactic Warriors 3
by Harvey Chute
XNA guru John Sedlak has released a beta of Galactic Warriors 3 - a fun overhead shooter game for Zune.
John completely rewrote the game, and it now sports sound effects, music support, new enemies, new levels and different weapons.
You can download the game, and give feedback for John, in this thread in our Games board.
See more of John's work at his Zune games site. Great stuff!

Remove duplicates from your playlists
by Harvey Chute
I just ran into another welcome new feature in Zune 2.5 - the ability to automatically remove duplicate tracks from a playlist.
I had several instances where I had dragged the same track or album to a playlist, having forgotten that I had previously added it. Those dup's are now gone thanks to this feature.
Just right-click on any playlist to see that option. Nice!

Red Zune 80s... in the wild
by Harvey Chute
I love the glossy finish on the red flash Zune players, so was pleased with Microsoft's recent word that red 80GB players are becoming available in retail.
(Previously, they were only available through Microsoft's Zune Originals site.)
Now that I see some real-life red 80 pix, I am really impressed. The official marketing photos looked great, but it's always helpful to see pix that are "in the wild", and not studio shots.

Uncertain how to get games loaded on your Zune player?
Games are in beta, so at present it's a quasi-technical exercise.
But if you're willing to do it, Spidermonkey6719 has posted a video tutorial. In eight minutes, he walks you real-time through the steps involved in installing games on your Zune player. Click the vid below to see the steps.

"Papa, we got hella cases!"
by Harvey Chute
Okay, she didn't say it quite like that, but daughter #1 was excited to see a new shipment of cases from Incipio.
You know what that means... more pix, reviews, and giveaways* coming up. Thanks, Incipio!
*Except for the pink wallet case, which she has already claimed for her 8GB..!
