My other forum (Palm Pre) has a little discussion going about Michael Jackson. It may have already occurred to some of you, but it just hit me:
MJ's legacy is to be just like Elvis. There will be people everywhere who insist he isn't dead, and will keep seeing him. Ooh... a new wave of Michael Jackson impersonators! I can hardly wait. Tongue  And in that regard, MJ is just impersonating Elvis... in death. Elvis was, is, and will always be #1!  Kiss

But I never really like Elvis...well at least I don't like his songs...Love MJ more than Elvis for sure. I like pop and rock music, that's why.

Oh, you must be a youngster. Cheesy I never swooned over Elvis like my cousin did, but once I moved to Hawaii, right when his movie Blue Hawaii was showing, I loved him. He always played the "good guy" who sings in his movies.

I really didn't start to appreciate the music of Elvis until lately. I grew up listening to his music but never really got into it until I got older..Yeah I don't get it either.
Elvis died what? 33 years ago...and is still quite popular. It will be interesting to see that if in 33 years Michael Jacksons music keeps its staying power. Actually some of the first music I bought off of zmp was Elvis.
I agree though...I am just waiting for the first MJ was seen in some obscure place report. Grin

we were all getting exxcited with his 'this is it' shows and the videos were again on the video channels and then he died which was totally shocking.
it is our generation elvis or JFK dying, we will rememebr where we were.

it was crazy here in the UK as teh fesival glastonbury was on and it started to trickle through the reports and everybody found out the day after.
i had to text my friend and tell him, he was in shock

Michael jackson was not only a great singer but a great human being too. his death has really created a vacuum in music industry.
