IT'S OFFICAL!
I have finally got the final proof that the new Zunes are here.
I work in the News business and I just recieved a fax that is embargoed until midnight tonight.....
What it basicaly says is that there are 2 new Zunes a 80gb hard drive and 2 flash players an 8gb and 4gb.
It goes on to say every Zune including the existing 30gb model will offer wireless sync, wireless sharing, a built in fm tuner and support for music videos, pictures and podcasts. All Zunes will also be able to play back TV content recored using windows vista media center.
The release also talked about the Zune Social, an on line community site which will be coming in beta this fall.
Also MP has been re stocked and redesigned to make it easier for people to find what they want. MP will now offer more than 3 million tracks, thousands of music videos and free audio and video podcasts. And for the first time users can also access more than one million mp3 that can be played on the Zune or any other digital media player......
Now remember you dont know where you heard this from because its EMBARGOED UNTIL MIDNIGHT TONIGHT....

It goes along with Engadget's Wednesday story. It goes along with the FCC report. It goes along with what sounds reasonable to expect from MS so I'll believe you on this one.

where is the clock  I kid... the flash is a joke....if they dont bring something beyond 20+ hours of playtime. Come on, small screen as that and you can't outperform a Samsung P2 with 3" inch screen and Bluetooth ? |

Thanks....In my excitement to post this info I read the time wrong. The release date and time is Oct 3 at 12am!!!! So its midnight tonight. Also video clips of the new Zune will be posted after the release on the following sites.... http://www.thenewsmarket.com/microsoft and at the Zune site at http://www.zune.net/pressI dont know if those sites are open to the general public, but its worth a try.... |

Yeah no where in the release did it say when the New Zunes and updates would be available. All it said was the new Zune products and services will be available this holiday season.

If there was one part of the Gen 1 that completely pwned the competition it would be the interface. No need for any big changes there. Just add a clock and other little software features to the firmware.
