Here are a few screen grabs from the flash animation at www.zune.net Notice the Genres option alongside albums and songs Videos added, but downloads removed ? weird. More of the Social...Listeners... and think there are more tidbits...just keep your eye open.

Interesting. Nice catch Ricardo. The addition of an option to view genres is much welcomed. Just give me my autoplaylists back and I'll be happy with the overall interface again. Those were the two biggest things I missed since they released the new software. The only other thing I wish they'd incorporate was a more robust rating system or at least an option of adding some rating depth for users who liked the old star system.

Having choices is always important. It could be what makes or breaks a PMP. At least that's what I think. Anyways, I'm really looking forward to an update. Hopefully there'll be one when the Zune is released in Canada, but I'm not holding my breath.

I'm thinking this update is coming for the canada launch too. I mean they can't show up there and go we havent been working on anything since last year can they? The least they could do is shove in a little software update to celebrate the occasion.

The flash animation feature seems to have been taken down. I watched it yesterday but now it doesn't seem to be there....? At least on my computer... Kind of makes one wonder.

The color on this Zune is a bit different... plus... what does "LANDING Prototype" mean?

The comments section on that particular CNET article is amusing. It's a good thing I've never liked CNET much.
So far, the speculation on the updates seem relatively minor (you can sort by Genre under List view), but I suppose any progress, is progress.

Yeah, though the sucky thing is you have to view them as a whole. I'm hoping you can view each genre specifically under browse. EDIT: Speaking of browse view, seems that shot that shows genres is right at the spot usually reserved for the option between browse and list views. Looks like you default to browse view and then you can further sort your view by artists, songs and genres. I like if true.

OOoooooh, very interesting! Good finds - I can't wait to see the next update, whenever it may be. Any effort to close the (Grand Canyon-sized) gap between the Zune software and MediaMonkey is much appreciated.
